MEL Science video blogger
Did you love science at school? Are you passionate about the importance of Science subjects in education and beyond? We’re looking for a charismatic, natural communicator to join us as our video blogger and potentially content/copywriter!
About our team
We’re a fast growing VC backed EdTech company, improving science education world-wide. We combine hands-on experiments with virtual reality to make our science sets completely interactive, bringing chemistry to life!
Our vlogger will quite literally help to show how science education can be fun. You’ll create engaging, interesting, educational vlogs about our exciting products and share them across relevant social media channels. You’ll target our relevant consumer markets including children between the ages of 8 and 12, their parents and of course, schools!
Easy But Deep!
We believe that science could be explained in simple words without much compromise on depth of explanation. Just check some of these examples:
There is no need for science to be explained in a boring way. The fact that we want to provide accurate and deep explanation does not mean we cannot be fun and interesting. Look at some of the greatest scientists like Richard Feynman, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Brian Cox, Michael Stevens (Vsauce), Derek Muller (Veritasium), Destin Sandlin (SmarterEveryDay), etc. They all know how to combine serious science with engaging and interesting story-telling.
You should have the skills and desire to explain science simply and attractively. It’s absolutely essential that you have a Science degree, or the equivalent level of science qualification. We’d love you to have studied Chemistry, Biology, Physics or Biochemistry. You’ll be an avid social media user, passionate about what we do and you’ll be able to create fantastic video content for various platforms!
What will you do?
Create compelling vlogs related to our products. You’ll conduct science experiments in front of the camera to show how our products work and can improve science education and explain the science behind those experiments.
We have a platform for your talent
With fast growing social media of more than one million followers your talent will have a great platform to make a real impact on science education. You will become a star people recognize.
Who would we like?
You’ll be a graduate in a Science subject with a passion for Science Education, that’s essential. You’ll have excellent academics. Your communications skills will be superlative, you’ll be comfortable in front of a camera and quite happy to conduct simple experiments under film! Proactive, resilient and resourceful, you’ll be able to conduct relevant research and trend analysis and plan your vlogs accordingly. You’ll be fluent in spoken written English. A strong team player and adept at building mutually effective business relationships.
If you’d like to progress your career in a startup that’s impacting the world of Science Education, and you can produce a simple video explaining why we should hire you, then please tell us more about yourself.
We offer great progression within a fast-moving, growing environment, as well as a highly desirable role.
Due to the high nature of applications, we’ll only be able to reply to those with relevant academics and experience!
